Patient Innovation was the winner of the World Summit Awards in Portugal in the category of Health and Well-Being

Patient Innovation was nominated as best national digital solution for Portugal for the international World Summit Awards (WSA). The WSA 2018 nominees show the richness, diversity and innovation of digital solutions on a global scale and prove how digital technology can improve society on each corner of the world. The WSA 2018 nominees were selected by the WSA National Experts from more than 180 UN member states and were evaluated based on seven fundamental criteria: Content, Functionality, Design, Technology, Innovation, Impact and Global/UN value. Patient Innovation won the Santa Casa Challenge and the Fidelidade Comunidade Award and is already developing and distributing new 3D printed prosthetics

The project “Offer your hand” was one of the winners of the Santa Casa Challenge and the Fidelidade Comunidade prizes that reward social inclusion and healthcare promotion projects. From a total of 580 applications in the Fidelidade Comunidade Award, the Patient Innovation project was one of the fifteen winners. This award will contribute for the development and production of low-cost 3D printed prosthesis for up to 20 children. Rodrigo was the first child to receive a 3D printed prosthesis under this project. On the delivery event we counted with the presence and support of the Câmara Municipal de Vila Real, represented by the City Councilor José Maria Magalhães.
