The Braille Thing?

Shared by NealM on 2019-07-15 17:37

About the solution

It's an original 3D printed board with magnetic filler pieces that mimic the braille code and six dot entry. It can be adapted for many basic braille learning skills through games. It is best used in conjunction with a white board and is perfect for anyone blind or visually impaired that wants or will need to learn to braille.

About the author

Hi I'm Neal Mckenzie an A.T. Specialist who works with blind/low vision students K-12. We had couple of very amazing and very young visually impaired students who because of there unstable eye conditions would gradually lose more of what little functional vision they currently have. Although there is a lot of great braille teaching methods they really needed a new fresh approach that involved more of an interactive game piece. This was exactly what was needed and the students loved this new tool and where motivated to practice braille with an enthusiasm that had not been reached before.
