Grieving mother designs special cards

Shared by Ana Duarte on 2019-07-24 10:03

About the solution

One of the reasons that led Hannah to launch this line of motivational cards is that she felt she wasn’t recognised as a mum after Dexy’s passing. The inventor also wanted to do something that would help support mothers in similar situations.

“Afterwards people forgot I was a mother, but I hadn’t stopped being one just because my baby died. Mother’s Day cards usually talk about tying children’s shoelaces, playing and looking after them. For my cards I imagined what Dexy would say to me if he could”, the mother explained.

The Mother’s Day after Dexy’s death was particularly painful to Hannah because she contacted Thortful and the company asked her to help them design a special range with heartfelt words for mother who lost their children.

The special cards include with messages such as: “To the greatest mummy: you always looked after me, now I’ll watch over you”.

All profits from her cards, which cost £3.29, will be donated to the charity Kicks Count, which helps provide mums-to-be with knowledge and confidence.
